Climbazole

What it does

An antifungal that slows the growth of Malassezia, the scalp yeast responsible for most dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis.

Benefits

Reduces flaking and itching at the cause rather than just washing scale away; works well alongside other antifungals because it acts on a different part of the fungal cell.

Concerns & Risks

Generally well tolerated in rinse-off products. Restricted to 0.5% in rinse-off hair products in the EU. Rare contact sensitivity.
