La Shield
Mineral Sunscreen Gel SPF 40 PA+++
A long-standing dermatologist-recommended sunscreen — though despite the 'Mineral' branding, this is actually a hybrid formula.

Our Take
We have to flag this directly: despite being marketed as a 'Mineral Sunscreen', the ingredient list shows octinoxate, Uvinul A Plus and Tinosorb S — three chemical filters — alongside titanium dioxide. This is a hybrid sunscreen, not a true mineral one. That's not a deal-breaker, but the labelling is misleading for anyone choosing it specifically to avoid chemical filters. SPF 40 is also lower than the SPF 50+ of most peers in this list, and it contains added fragrance. It does have a long dermatologist-recommendation history in India for sensitive skin, which is worth weighing — some sensitive-skin users do tolerate it well.
