Plum
Rice Water & 2% Niacinamide Clear Moisture Gel Cream
Light, fragrance-free gel with 2% niacinamide that suits oily skin — but the brightening claims overreach and this 25 g size is poor value.
Is Plum Rice Water Niacinamide Gel Cream good for oily skin?
For oily or combination skin, yes: a light, fragrance-free gel with a matte finish and 2% niacinamide, the level a placebo-controlled trial found reduced sebum. Buy the 50 g jar, though: this 25 g pack costs about 30% more per gram.

Our Take
This is a light, fragrance-free gel that does a sensible job for oily skin: glycerin as the main humectant, 2% niacinamide — the level a placebo-controlled trial found reduced sebum — and a blend of silicones that gives the matte, non-sticky finish. The claims run well ahead of that. “Brightens skin in 2 weeks” and “fades blemishes” lean on niacinamide at a dose below the 5% used in the best-known dark-spot work, the “2x hydration” is measured against bare, unmoisturised skin, and the oil control credited to Matmarine, a marine ferment, rests on supplier data alone. We'd also ignore the “winter moisturizer” in the Amazon title: there is almost nothing occlusive here, and Plum itself points dry skin to a different cream. The bigger issue is the pack: at an MRP of ₹349 for 25 g, about ₹14 a gram, this travel size costs roughly 30% more per gram than the 50 g jar of the same formula and twice Minimalist's Vitamin B5 gel. Buy the formula by all means, just not in this size.

What buyers report
Recent Amazon reviews mostly describe a light, non-sticky gel that absorbs quickly and suits oily or acne-prone skin, with several mentioning a soft glow. The recurring complaint is smell: a few notice a faint scent and a couple dislike it, even though the formula is fragrance-free. Isolated reviewers find it heavier or more drying than expected.
