Love Beauty and Planet
Argan Oil & Lavender Smooth and Serene Sulfate Free Shampoo
Sulfate-free taurate shampoo whose smoothing comes from silicone, not the argan and lavender on the label — fair value, but heavily fragranced.
Is Love Beauty and Planet Argan Oil & Lavender Shampoo good for frizzy hair?
It is a fair everyday pick for frizz-prone hair: a sulfate-free base with a silicone, dimethiconol, doing the smoothing rather than the argan and lavender on the label. It is heavily fragranced, though, so skip it if your scalp is sensitive.

Our Take
The “sulfate free” on the front is true as far as it goes: the main cleanser is sodium methyl cocoyl taurate, a coconut-derived taurate, backed by cocamidopropyl betaine — though a second anionic detergent, TEA dodecylbenzenesulfonate, arrives with the silicone emulsion, so “sulfate free” should not be read as “detergent free”. The smoothing does not come from the argan and lavender on the label, both of which sit below the perfume in the ingredient list; it comes from dimethiconol, a silicone, with stearamidopropyl dimethylamine and polyquaternium-10 — a perfectly good conditioning system, just not the one the bottle sells. We'd also discount the “2x smoother” and “up to 48 hours frizz control” figures, which the brand's own footnote attributes to a lab test of the shampoo and conditioner together against a non-conditioning shampoo. It is heavily fragranced, with perfume fifth on the list alongside lavender essential oil and four declared fragrance allergens, though the preservative system — sodium benzoate, no parabens or formaldehyde releasers — is admirably clean. At an MRP of ₹658 for 400 ml, about ₹1.65 a ml, it is a pleasant, fair-value everyday shampoo for frizz-prone hair, just not the botanical treatment its packaging implies.

What buyers report
Recent Amazon reviews are divided. Several buyers like the lavender scent and say it cleans well and leaves hair soft, but a minority find it drying, with hair left rough, frizzy or stripped. The scent, which one reviewer found too strong, reflects the formula: perfume is fifth on the ingredient list, alongside lavender essential oil.
