Bare Anatomy
Expert Anti-Dandruff Shampoo
Sulfate-free shampoo with a sound pairing of piroctone olamine and salicylic acid — undisclosed doses and inflated claims hold it back.
Is Bare Anatomy Expert shampoo good for dandruff?
It can help mild dandruff: piroctone olamine with salicylic acid is a sound pairing, in a sulfate-free base. Neither dose is disclosed, though, so we cannot say how strong it is.

Our Take
Piroctone olamine to tackle the yeast and salicylic acid to lift the flakes is a sensible pairing with some trial evidence behind it, and the sulfate-free base — sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate with cocamidopropyl betaine — is gentler than the SLES most pharmacy shampoos use. The problem is that Bare Anatomy will not say how much of either active is in the bottle, and both sit after the perfume in the ingredient list; Scalpe Pro, at a lower price per ml, states its levels and carries three antifungals. The headline “up to 100% dandruff reduction” rests on an unpublished 2025 study of the serum, shampoo and conditioner used together, its figures labelled consumer claims, with no registration number, sample size or duration anywhere — awkward for a brand that promises to disclose every study. The listing also credits the shampoo with Pentavitin (saccharide isomerate), which appears in the brand's serum but not in this shampoo's ingredient list, while the biotin and rosemary are there for the label rather than the scalp, and the perfume and menthol sit uneasily with its promise to soothe. At an MRP of ₹484 for 250 ml it is a reasonable sulfate-free option for mild flaking on an oily scalp, but the marketing promises far more than the formula discloses.

What buyers report
Recent Amazon reviews mostly report fewer flakes and less itching on oily scalps, with a pleasant scent and a lather that leaves hair soft rather than dry, in keeping with its sulfate-free base. Several reviewers stress it controls dandruff rather than clearing it, so flakes return once they stop; one buyer found the lengths frizzy and hard to detangle.
